A. Hughe's purpose for him rewriting and recalling this event i think is because of a hidden message. No matter what you do and no matter who you are trying to make you happy you cannot lie. When you lie all meaning and hope is gone. No matter the situation. It never helps. In the long run lies catch up. They break you down and make you less of a person. Even if it fixes a small problem in the short run, it will always catch up and you will regret it.
A. No matter who you are and no matter what you do, you can be pressured into doing something you don't want to. Whether its a big deal or it doesnt matter at all. Every person has been pressured to do something. It's not always a bad thing. But more often than not it isn't a good thing. Whenever I'm unsure of something I will usually be pressured into something pretty easy. Some things that we do though don't work out so well. This one time my friends tried getting me to throw these berries at some cars. I usually just don't care to do stuff like that and I don't see the point in it but my friends just kind of talked me into it. I didn't want to sound like a wimp so i just did. So turns out the driver got super mad and stopped his car. It didn't turn out to be that big of a deal but we ended up feeling kind of bad. In Salvation Hughes forces himself to fit in and make everyone around him feel comfortable about God. When it comes down to, he made everyone around him happy, but he paid the consequences with guilt. When faced with a decision like this, you just need to ask yourself if it is worth it. Who's feelings do you care about most, your peers or your own? It most cases I would say you have to make yourself happy. Some people chose to live their lives to make other people happy. It really to me is more important to make yourself happy. If you can't live with your own decisions you need to make some changes. It does not matter that you make others happy if you can't make yourself happy. So keep yourself happy and naturally everyone around you will be happy too.
